Thinking about getting lip filler for the first time? It’s completely normal to feel excited — and maybe a little nervous. At Cherry Bomb Beauty in Swanley Kent, I specialise in natural-looking results that enhance your features, not change them. Whether you’re after subtle volume or defined shape, this guide walks you through what happens before, during, and after your appointment, so you can feel confident every step of the way.

Your Consultation
Before any treatment, we’ll sit down for a one-to-one consultation to discuss your goals, answer questions, and assess your facial proportions. I’ll explain your options (including my signature Cherry Bow Technique if it suits your face and lip shape) and make sure you understand everything from desired outcome, risks and aftercare.
During the treatment
We’ll start by numbing your lips to keep you as comfortable as possible, this normally takes around 15 minutes. Once you are numb, I will remove the cream from your lips then take some before pictures. Sterilising the injection area is important as it removes any bacteria and prevents infection, this will be done right before I start injecting. My technique consists of a fanning motion that starts with the top lip and then onto the bottom. I try to be as gentle as possible and you'll have the option for stress toy to help you manage the pain.
The process usually takes around 30 minutes and most clients are surprised at how quick and manageable it is!

What to Expect After Treatment
You will experience some swelling and minor bruising for a few days. This is totally normal and part of the healing process. You’ll be given an aftercare kit with everything you need, and I’m always available for check-ins or concerns — I don’t believe in ghosting clients once they leave the clinic. In your aftercare kit you will receive a cherry lip oil that contains arnica gel, a cold compress, instructions card and some cherry sweets (because why not!).
Your lips may feel tender for the couple of days post treatment which is normal but can be managed with paracetamol. Stay away from any blood thinning medications like aspirin and even ibuprofen.
How Long Do Lip Fillers Last?
This can vary depending on your metabolism and the filler used, but results typically last between 6–12 months. Many clients return for maintenance top-ups when they feel ready. If you're new to lip filler, it can take a few sessions to build them to your desired shape and size.
